I had an oeuf en cocotte with za'atar and tomato paste, accompanied by onion rye toast soldiers. My side was Greek yogurt with blueberries. Coffee, of course, to drink.

Blackberry Delight

We are blessed with a lot of goat cheese, but the chèvre's expiration is approaching. Today's breakfast is blackberries over goat cheese spread on toasted rye bread. Beverage, as usual, is hot coffee -- today, it's a spicy Ethiopian.

What's For Breakfast

Black coffee. Gaeran tost-u (Korean egg toast) with kimchi, carrots, and shallots; topped with ketchup and brown sugar. I had leftover carrot, so I had it as a side vegetable.

Sherried Sardines

I used Alton Brown's recipe, but the Hass avocado from Giant Food that was supposed to be mashed under them was rotten -- two of them. Next time, I go to Safeway.

Sandwich & Salad

Grilled goat Gouda on marble rye with mesclun & beet salad. I threw together a dijon mustard balsamic vinaigrette for the salad. The sandwich was grilled in a cast iron pan (yay, Lodge!).
